Tour the Good Housekeeping Research Institute
High above the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, on the 29th floor of Heast Tower, a team of scientists, engineers, nutritionists, and researchers evaluate, test and re-test hundreds of consumer products from every category. Founded in 1900, before there was an FDA or an FTC, the Good Housekeeping Research Institute is dedicated to improving the lives of consumers and their families. Good And Green® attendees can sign up for an informative tour of this state-of-the-art facility and learn more about the experts who staff the foremost consumer products evaluation laboratory in the country. Tours last 20 minutes, have limited availability and are on a first-come, first served, pre-registered basis. Sign up for a tour when you register for the conference!

Experience the Hearst Tower
From design through construction, Hearst Corporation committed itself to producing the most environmentally friendly office tower in New York city history. The first skyscraper to break ground in after September 11, 2001, Hearst Tower is the first occupied “green” commercial building in New York City to receive a Gold Rating under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system by the US Green Building Council.

The Joseph Urban Theater, located on the mezzanine level and named for the architect of the original art-deco cast stone structure commissioned by William Randolph Hearst in 1928, is the setting for all General Sessions. During the Breakfasts and Breaks, attendees can get a close up look at the original interior walls of this Landmark Site that is the footing for the soaring modern glass and steel tower above. And the 44th floor view of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline will only add to the conversation and ambiance of the Lunch and Reception.

Take the Cake Award
All of our speakers are great, but who did you find to be the most influential? Which session brought you information and insight that you can't wait to get back to the office and implement? Let us know on the Attendee Survey! We'll tally up the responses and honor the speaker who "Takes the Cake" with a beautiful handmade glass cake plate from the talented glass blowers at Simon Pearce in Vermont. In 2007, Joel Makower of Greener World Media won the honors, and Matt Williams of The Martin Agency was the recipient in 2008. In 2009, John Marshall Roberts, author of Igniting Inspiration, won the award. Michael Parrish DuDell of Ecorazzi and The Domino Project was the 2011 winner. Congrats to all!
