Adam Werbach Shows Brands Why Blue Is The New Green At Good And Green™-The Green Marketing Conference
Hartford, Conn. – August 05, 2008-- After sending shockwaves through the environmental movement with his 2004 speech titled “Is Environmentalism Dead?” and the 2008 follow-up address "The Birth of Blue", Adam Werbach, global chief executive officer of Saatchi & Saatchi S, has become one of the world’s premier experts in sustainability. Werbach will be sharing his vision of building a billion-person strong, consumer-based movement for sustainability from the stage of Good And Green™-The Green Marketing Conference, December 3-4, 2008, Chicago Cultural Center.
"We are witnessing green fatigue on a grand scale which is threatening the credibility—and sustainability--of the marketing industry itself," says Werbach, who at the age of 23 was elected as the youngest president ever of the Sierra Club. "Consumers are seeking something broader than a green or environmentalist solution to the myriad of problems they face in their lives and we need to find a new way of connecting sustainability to the aspirations of everyday people. Good And Green™ gives us the opportunity to explore innovative ways to motivate and inspire consumers and give them the channels to make those solutions real—in a big global way."
Werbach founded sustainability agency, Act Now, which won critical acclaim for its work with Wal-Mart and earlier this year merged with Saatchi & Saatchi to form Saatchi & Saatchi S. "Act Now’s presentation regarding Wal-Mart’s Personal Sustainability Project was one of the highest rated features from last year’s Good And Green™ event," says Nan McCann, president of PME® Enterprises, LLC, producers of the conference. "Adam is truly a visionary in this space and it is an honor to have him be a part of our program this year."
