Good And Green™-The Green Marketing Conference Helps Rescue Plastic Toys For The Children Of Chicago

Hartford, CT – December 18, 2008 --  In addition to its unique blend of impressive speakers and unparalleled networking opportunities with senior level executives representing blue chip brands, the 2nd Annual Good And Green™-The Green Marketing Conference, held December 3-4, 2008 at the Chicago Cultural Center, gave attendees, presenters and sponsors the opportunity to rescue plastic toys for the children of Chicago.

“Second Chance Toys was so pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of Good And Green™ since doing ‘good’ and ‘green’ truly echoes our mission,” said Sasha Lipton founder of Second Chance Toys, an organization that rescues unwanted plastic toys that would otherwise be headed for a landfill and recycles them by sending them to needy children  “By collecting nearly 450 gently used plastic toys we were able to build a centerpiece that became a focal point at the conference and a reminder for what could have ended up in the landfills.”

Planet Green, the first and only 24-hour eco-lifestyle television network and online community, was the Exclusive Presenting Sponsor of Good And Green™.  “Planet Green was honored to participate as the Exclusive Presenting Sponsor of Good and Green for a second year,” said Tom Carr, senior vice president of marketing for the network.  “It was wonderful to connect with the influential thought-leaders of this space who gathered to discuss the importance of continuing to build strategic green marketing initiatives.  Through all the workshops, presentations and networking it was evident that building sustainable business practices now will ensure a brand’s success in the future.”

The Good And Green™ ‘08 program included general sessions, workshops, discussion groups, case studies and panels. The stage was filled with top brand leaders and green marketing experts such as Adam Werbach of Saatchi & Saatchi S, Joel Makower of GreenBiz.com and Matt Williams of The Martin Agency.  In fact, Williams was voted the favorite speaker by attendees and will receive the 2008 “You Take the Cake” speaker award.  “It’s quite an honor to win the ‘You Take the Cake’ award from Good And Green,” Williams said.  “The conference inspired me and all the attendees to think differently about how we address today’s challenges and opportunities in green marketing.  I’m proud to have contributed to the dialogue.”
